By train from Bad Kreuznach to Idar-Oberstein. Apart from the old core below the rock church, Idar Oberstein is just ugly. The bike path to Monzingen isn't particularly good either, as it mostly follows the road. In Monzingen there is a good bakery, good wine from Weingut Alt and a restaurant with surprisingly good pizza. 🤗.
