Gailoh Railway Embankment Path

Highlight • Cycleway

The road is very comfortable to ride, but I also found it to be long and boring. A second time I would certainly not drive the railway embankment.

Path Along the Vils

Highlight • Trail

The old railway embankment from Haselmühl to Schmidmühlen is still quite underestimated. Amberg-Schmidmühlen can be connected quickly and easily.

Beautiful bike path through beautiful nature. Hardly any gradients, good surface and again and again it goes directly along the Lauterach.

The valley goes past the town hall in a northwesterly direction out of Kastl - nice little road that forks after 1 km - both routes are very nice

More or less right on the bike path and there is a very clean public toilet (open from 8am to 6pm).

There is also a charging station for e-cars, but you can only charge for 2 hours if I interpret the signs correctly (it is then …

Beautiful circuit around the Hirschwald Nature Park. From Amberg via the Schweppermann cycle path into the Lautertal and from there back again via the Vilstal.
A bit of a tough start, don't be put off, the second part of the Schweppermann is beautiful, the Lautertal really is very, very beautiful! The market town of Kastl is very beautiful, the Hammermühle …

Armin and Sylvia were out and about in Upper Palatinate this Easter and did a lovely tour around the Hirschwald Nature Park, which included a large portion of the route along former railway lines. I immediately grabbed the tour, and it was a perfect fit today. Many thanks to @Armin for the excellent planning.
