August 18, 2023,Eifel 🥾🥾 - Traumpfade "Bergheidenweg und Wacholderweg"
Inspired by @uta_is_hiking, Iris and I tackled this juniper and heather tour today.
The morning fog quickly dissipated and a sunny day opened up. 🌞
I don't have to report much about the wonderful juniper and heath stretches. The pictures say everything. 🤩
The routes are well signposted, as are the access routes between the two tours.
There were plenty …

In perfect hiking weather we went to the Eifel today......

There were wonderful sections of blooming purple heather cushions🌸 and berry-studded juniper bushes🫐 and pines. The rest of the hike went through fields 🌾 and mixed forest 🌳. Nice the many benches with wonderful views, the delicious blackberries to eat, the chapel ⛪️ and the two …

Another nice "Take2" tour from @joetobn in 2021 komoot.de/tour/463627716

From the Wacholderhütte, follow the Wacholderheide dream path with @Manggongjai down to the Nette, then switch to the Bergheide dream path, past Netterhöfe and up the Selbach to the deserted plateau of the same name.
