Diederich Temple overlooking the Müngsten Bridge and the Wupper

Highlight • Viewpoint

As Diederichstempel two lookout pavilions at Castle and Müngsten, southeast of Solingen above the Wupper called.

The two pavilions were donated by the wealthy August Diederichs end of the 19th century and the early 20th century. Diederichs, who came from Remscheid and at the time was a retired director of a Swiss boarding school, chose the place for the buildings himself and set up a contract. He decreed that the pavilions should be open to the public at all times of the day and year.Wikipedia

View of the Sengbach Reservoir

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Sengbachtalsperre (popularly also called "Solinger dam") is located in a secluded side valley of the Wupper not far from castle Burg, between the Solingen district Höhrath and Glüder. The water reservoir located in the midst of green forests supplies the inhabitants of the city of Solingen with drinking water. For this reason, the building is popularly usually referred to only as Solinger dam.

Sengbachtalsperre from Above

Highlight • Viewpoint

Two years ago you could hardly see the Sengbachtalsperre from here. Due to the drought of the last 2 years, hundreds of trees had to be felled on this stretch. Unfortunately, this made it possible to have a wonderful view of the dam from above...

July 8, 2023,2er Tour Solingen: Liewerfrauenweg - Sengbachtalsperre - Wupper - Schloss Burg und Korkenzieher- und Bergbahntrasse (1005 hm nach komoot)
In the heat of the Bergisches Land, always a good decision! Tried the hiking trail 25 Liewefrauenweg today. Trails are mobile for experienced MTB riders and very sporty Cravel bikers, otherwise push - the way is worthwhile in any case. Then along the Wupper with a special ferry crossing.
