The Soča River has a certain magic that you can only feel once you've been there. A special place is here at the large Soča troughs - Velika korita Soča. In the deeply cut gorge, the river disappears in a 750 meter long channel carved into the limestone, only to return to a wide river bed at Camp Korita. By the way, you can swim there very well.

This hike goes from Camping Soca to the Sunikov waterfall...... but see for yourself 👌

The day started a little later than usual today because Jochen had to attend an appointment at work, so we couldn't get started until shortly after 10:00. There wasn't too much on the agenda today. We wanted to take it a little easier, especially since the day was a bit rainy.

As mentioned on the last tour, the peaks were covered in clouds, so we went to the waterfall in the valley. It was a nice tour, half on small paths and the other half on a wide road. Always along the water, we went leisurely uphill to the destination. Otherwise, the photos speak for themselves.
3 hours of parking 15€... …

It took us a good hour just for the first 500 meters of this tour 🫣. Not because the stretch is particularly difficult to walk or even dangerous. No, a completely different "challenge kept us there", namely the breathtaking beauty of the Soča at this point! WOW😍!

After a good night at our cute campsite,
today again brought countless wonderful landscape impressions. I was so excited about the intense colors of white, green and turquoise that I couldn't stop taking photos...
We crossed lots of bridges and saw small and large waterfalls. The tributaries of the Soča are just as beautiful, and all this idyll is framed …

The Soča is considered the most beautiful river in Europe because of its color and its beautiful troughs and pools. Incidentally, the river owes its unique emerald green color to the subterranean limestone caves, because the lime particles flushed out in them break the light in such a way that the color appears bluish. We started from a free street …

From the campsite there is another parking lot 2 km further, which is closer to the waterfall

A fairly steep path blocked by fallen trees kept me from the last few meters to the waterfall. It was still a wonderful tour. Winding paths lead you along the Soca. Very easy to walk in parts and across fantastic meadows. Partly adventurous over loose scree or roots, but wonderfully winding, narrow and adventurous.
