Historic Ignacy Mine

The main attraction of the open-air museum are two steam engines: the first one from 1900, which operates the Głowacki shaft, and the second one, from 1920, which operates at the Kościuszko shaft. In 2004, the mine was recognized as the best tourist product of the year in the entire Silesian Province. Since 2006, the historic Ignacy mine has been on the Industrial Monuments Route. There is a 46-meter high water tower in the mine, currently used as a viewing point.
