Lord Stones Café & Car Park

Highlight • Rest Area

Car park for accessing the Lords Stones as well as the Carlton Bank DH track located at the top of Cringle end, there is also a nice rideable bridleway along the bottom of the trail that can be accessed without the need for climbing all the way up to Cringle End. There is also a lovely cafe located right next to the car park.

The full descent starts at Brian's Pond all the way down to Scugdale Hall, although you can join the second half from the west on the singletrack from Scott Crags.

At the top section of the bridleway, the gradient eases off a little, whereas it's much steeper and more technical nearer the bottom. There are some chunky rocks and fairly large holes so take it steady if it's your first time here.

Square Corner might just be a car park, but this is a car park to end all car parks! On Thimbleby Moor, with views of the Black Hambleton hill to the south and with beautiful views down the valley to the town of Osmotherley to the west. Life is good again.
