Beinn a' Chlachair

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Beinn a'Chlachair is a 1,087m Munro mountain in the Scottish Highlands. I approached the mountain via a path which ran up the Allt Coire Pitridh. It's to necessary peel off the path and make your way south over pathless terrain to reach the summit, but make sure you keep to the east of the Coire Mor Chlachair (corrie) that sits to the north of the summit.

Geal Charn

Highlight • Viewpoint

Geal Charn is a 1,049m mountain in the Scottish Highlands. It's often climbed as part of a circuit with Beinn a' Chlachair and Creag Pitridh on the Ardverikie Estate. It can be slow going on Geal Charn's upper reaches due to the rock blocks across the broad summit ridge.

Creag Pitridh

Highlight • Natural

Creag Pitridh is a 924m mountain in the Scottish Highlands. On the day we climbed this mountain we were stopped at the entrance to the estate by a man with a dog and warned not to take photographs of any machinery we may or may not see during our walk.

This was bizarre as the last thing we go hillwalking for is to look at machinery. Upon descending Creag Pitridh, it all became clear, we were on the film set of the new James Bond film! A helicopter scene was shot right above our heads.
