Carsington Water is a reservoir operated by Severn Trent. It takes water from the River Derwent during high flow in the winter along 10km long tunnels.
the road around the edge is nice to ride although some cars are a bit quick. Café and toilets at the visitor centre.

The Miners Arms

Lovely seating outside the pub. Arrived to the pub too early, but the delightfull staff had no problem allowing us to sit on their benches and enjoy our packed snacks.

St Margaret's Church, Carsington

Highlight • Historical Site

The church may date from the 13th century. A sundial set into the east wall is inscribed Re-edified 1648. The west end gallery has an inscription This loft was erected at the onely charge of Sir Philp Gell, Baronett. Anno Domini 1704 by consent of the parish at a meeting in Carsington: for the use of his tenants in Hopton.
