St John the Baptist Church, Chaceley

The church stands on the east bank of the River Severn and opposite to Deerhurst.

The church as an unusual Norman chancel arch with a 'devils's face' keystone, probably of Saxon origin, and some 13th century features including the tower with a small spire.

It is great to cycle around as it almost forms a roundabout on the route, giving you a view of most of the church.

A Grade II listed church that forms part of the wider Severnside Benefice, which comprises the Parishes of Chaceley, Forthampton, Deerhurst with Apperley and Tredington with Stoke Orchard and Hardwicke.

The tower is 13th century. In the churchyard there is a whipping post and stocks. The post has manacles and stocks for three which have survived from 1787.
