View of Bath from the Cotswold Way

Highlight • Forest

High point on the Cotswold Way just before the descent into Bath begins. From here out it's a gradual decline into the city, though the views remain spectacular as you go down

Prospect Stile Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

Higher than Kelston Roundhill, Prospect stile opens up excellent panoramic views of Bath and Bristol. It also offers a spot to identify prominent features in the landscape below. Well worth a visit on a clear day.

Kelston Round Hill Trig Point

Highlight • Summit

No way up here from the Kelston round hill unless you have a team of 3. Large 7ft+ deer fences are pretty much impassable with anything heavier than a high end carbon bike. Gates too narrow to squeeze in without a folding bike.

If you do have said team of 3 then the strongest person straddles the fence, one lifts the bikes up to them, the other receives.

The alternative is to go down the bridleway to north Stoke and up again

Kelston Roundhill

Highlight • Viewpoint

Kelston Roundhill affords spellbinding views over Bath, Bristol and Somerset. In clear conditions, you can see both Severn bridges, across to Wales and the Black Mountains, the Wiltshire Downs in the east and the Mendip Hills in the south. The countryside in this neck of the woods is magnificent; a picturesque and quintessentially-English patchwork. A superb section of the Cotswold Way runs over the hill, too.
