Very impressive church interior, brick Gothic at its finest, with numerous grave monuments including Princess Isabella, King Charles IX. And his wife. Christina of Schleswig-Holstein.
In 2018, the grave insignia of the two, worth around €6 million, were stolen and found in a rubbish bin in 2019.
In the back of the church there is a children's playroom and a church café is served.

Arne Bothvidson (1923–1986) made a template for the Mermaid, which a blacksmith named Holmberg then forged. This must have happened in the late 50s or early 60s. The sculpture is donated to Strängnäs municipality.

Erik Sand (1909–1997), the artist of the Lurblåsaren, was born on Tosterön outside the Strängnäs, there was no bridge between the island and the mainland, so as a child he often arrived by boat to Lurudden, where the sculpture has its place.
