The cathedral is located in the city, next to the main street leading from the Flavier Street to the Forum. It was built where Christians gathered during the persecution (until the 4th century). The building grew larger over time, taking on its present form in the 5th century. It was an elongated parallelogram structure with two rows of columns. The sanctuary was to the west, defined by a semicircular podium with a bench for the priests. In front of the sanctuary, as well as behind and around it, parts of a floor mosaic from the 5th and 6th centuries have been preserved, bearing memorial inscriptions of the faithful who paid for the creation of a part of this mosaic with their money.

A very interesting city...
The Arena is particularly impressive 🤩
Beautiful alleyways with lots of tourist hustle and bustle and the typical little shops.
We loved it! ☺️

Today we spent a nice afternoon in Pula! 👌 We saved the 10.- € entrance fee for the amphitheater to look at from the inside, because you can walk completely around the outside and get enough to see.
Then we went in a circle up the mountain to the castle, which we had already looked at from the inside 5 …

Pula, almost in the very south of Istria, is already 3,000 years old. In the first century AD, the city got city walls with 10 gates. Several of them are still there. The Arena was also built at that time, an impressive colossus, especially if
you look at it from a terrace.

Beautiful round that shows most of what is important and worth seeing. Conveniently also passes restaurants etc. . 😁

Since the temperature was finally bearable this morning after thunderstorms during the night, we decided to take a trip to Pula. Many sights, including the amphitheater and the castle, are worth a visit. In the old town there are many restaurants and shops and simply too many people. It's worth a look, but in our opinion there are nicer cities …

Just lie in the sun all day long and bathe in the warm water without a bike or hiking shoes. Camping near Rovinje and today trip to Pula.

On the penultimate day we took a trip to Pula. We were surprised by the mixture of ancient buildings from the Roman era, especially the amphitheater and the Augustov Hram, the old town, buildings from the Wilhelminian period near the train station, the fortress with its underground entrances which are top-notch, the fortress in an elevated, exposed position in the …

Pula's city center is particularly worth seeing. In addition to the ancient arena, there are many charming alleys and squares with numerous shops to browse, and countless restaurants, cafés, and ice cream parlors to linger in. From the castle, you have a beautiful view of the city. You can save the €7 entrance fee, as the circular path outside also …
