Sedlec Cathedral

A rare and unique UNESCO monument - the Cathedral of the Assumption and St. John the Baptist in Sedlec near Kutná Hora - is the monastery church of what was once the oldest Cistercian abbey in Bohemia (built in 1142). Together with the world-famous Sedlec Ossuary, this temple forms a complete complex of the oldest part of Kutná Hora. The cathedral was built between 1290 and 1320 by an unknown so-called Master of the Sedlec Temple and combines northern French Gothic cathedral architecture with German elements.
