Arditurri Mining Complex

Highlight • Historical Site

Arditurri mining preserve, an old mining complex located in Las Peñas de Aya. This mining complex began to be exploited before the arrival of the Roman Empire and it remained active, practically without interruption, until 1984. Silver (argentiferous galena), iron, lead, zinc, fluorite and blende have been obtained from it. In 2004 it became part of the Peñas de Aya Natural Park and, after the 800-meter gallery was set up, it is open to the public for their visit and understanding.
