Beach in Narewka

Highlight • Beach

Take a walk to the town of Świnoroje and follow the educational path "Pod
"Oaks", moving among 150-year-old stands of trees, learning at the same time
interesting facts about forest protection. Particularly recommended in the Narewka commune
there is a bicycle. The challenge is considerable, as you have to cover a distance of over 200 meters

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Narewka

Highlight • Religious Site

Church of St. Nicholas (built after 1864).

The beginnings of the current Orthodox parish in Narewka (formerly called Narewka Mała) date back to 1794, when the first wooden chapel of St. John the Baptist was built in the cemetery. At that time, this chapel belonged to the parish in Lewków Stary. Unfortunately, on December 24, 1898, the chapel burned down and could not be rebuilt.

In 1864, a decision was made to build a brick church. It was planned that the temple would be located away from the center, in a place where the garden and park part of the Grodzisko manor was located. In June 1865, the cornerstone was laid. The name of the main construction master of Novików has survived to this day. The church was built not only from contributions from the parishioners. The Russian government allocated 10,000 rubles for the investment. The bricks for the construction were supplied by the Frydman brickyard (located near Narewka Mała) and factories in Białowieża. The church was consecrated in 1967, and three years later it was blessed (some sources say that it was consecrated in 1867). The patron saint of the church was St. Alexander Nevsky and remained so until 1869, when, as a result of the separation of an independent parish in Narewka, the church was renamed the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. bialowieza.travel/zobacz-koniecznie/obiekty-sakralne/atrakcja/174

Kayaking and more

Highlight • Rest Area

Something for lovers of close contact with water. The kayak station is located in the center of Narewka, on the banks of the picturesque river of the same name. It also serves as a tourist information center, accommodation base and a camping site with a campsite. A stable pier on the river allows for safe descent to the water, and experienced staff help to determine the appropriate route of the rafting. The center's equipment will satisfy every tourist visiting our commune. In summer, it is possible to kayak or rent a bike (water or traditional), while in winter - with appropriate snow cover - cross-country skiing accessories. The area around the Kayak Station is fenced, has a convenient parking lot and a bonfire shelter. Nearby there is a retention reservoir with benches and a small pier, as well as a rest and relaxation zone in the heart of Narewka: with a sandy beach, atmospheric umbrellas, hammocks for sunbathing and a modern playground and a pirate ship! There is also an amphitheater nearby, which is especially vibrant in the summer season and invites you to various artistic performances.
