Dinosaur Footprints at Salema Beach

Highlight • Natural Monument

Dinosaur footprints around 140 million years old have been preserved directly on the beach. They come from a dinosaur of the suborder Ornithopoda. This dinosaur was around 1.50 m to 2 m tall, moved mostly bipedally on feet with three relatively broad toes without claws and was a herbivore.

A little further east, on a sloping rock slab in an unnamed bay, six footprints from a theropod resembling chicken feet with claws have been preserved.
