Path Along the Nadlersbach

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Either you take the beautiful, natural path above, directly along the stream or the easier path on the road without seeing the stream. The Burgersgarten at the end of the trail is a double-edged affair. The location is great, the food difficult.

Cappadocia is a street. The Schiffle brewery is located here, brewing is no longer (Laumers). But you can sit nicely in the beer garden next to the Schwabach.

And this is also where Schwabach's Luna cinema has been at home, since 1913. It's a small, quaint, cute little cinema (like it used to be). If you don't like the big multiplex cinemas, this is the place for you 😍😍👍👍

The tower of the town church above Schwabach's old town can be seen from afar. The roots of the church go back well into the Middle Ages, presumably a simple church building already stood at this point in the first settlement on the Schwabach. It had to be expanded again and again, and new, larger churches were built. The town church, which bears the names of Saints John and Martin, was consecrated in its current form in 1495. The magnificent Gothic high altar, which is attributed to Veit Stoss and made the church famous far beyond Schwabach, is also more than five hundred years old.

Schwabach Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

The town hall and the city church behind it form the unmistakable silhouette of Schwabach's market square ("Königsplatz") and have become the trademark of the entire city.

After the renovation, which was completed in 2002, the town hall of Schwabach shines in new splendor.
The history of the town hall

The present town hall was built in 1528/29 and changed over and over again through renovations and extensions over the centuries. For example, the north wing was embellished in 1901-1904 by the placement of a decorative truss and the cultivation of a wood carving choir.

In the year 2001 a complete renovation of the then over 470 years old building took place. To top it off, the two turrets of the town hall received their golden roofs.

Citizens and friends of the city financed the golden roofs with the purchase of 2,000 leaf-gilded tiles. That this is Schwabacher gold leaf, goes without saying.
