Immenhof Estate (Rothensande Estate)

The Holstein estate near Malente in Schleswig-Holstein became famous through the popular Immenhof films.

Spacious stables, historic granaries, wide paddocks and a magnificent manor house characterize the baroque Rothensande estate in the middle of Holstein Switzerland. Coming from a long chestnut avenue, you enter the estate through the beautiful gatehouse. Behind it is a spacious farmyard, flanked on both sides by utility rooms. The garden's earliest origins date back to around 1500. From 1716 onward, a luxurious French Baroque garden was created, in keeping with the spirit of the times. However, just 60 years later, work began on its fundamental redesign and expansion into what was then a fashionable English landscape garden, featuring numerous special trees from all over the world, winding paths, small temples, a waterfall, a Chinese bridge, and romantic views of the lake. Eutin Market Square

The Dieksee promenade runs along the western shore of the 368-hectare Dieksee lake. Here you will find many of Malente's hotels, guesthouses, and health clinics.
Redesigned in 2007, the promenade consists partly of paved stone slabs and partly of hard-packed sand. During the construction work, a floating pontoon for events was installed near the pier for the 5-Lakes Cruise and Kellersee Cruise. An additional wooden walkway was also added to the promenade.
