At the end of the path is a water tower connected to a pipe. You basically walk around on it. Here's the information board.

On the Jungfernsteg and the Teufelssteg (here, according to a legend, the Beelzebub has been bodily seen), the hikers cross the Selbitz, which flows through the Höllental.

The arched bridge of the Höllentalbahn, which ran between Triptis and Marxgrün, was in use from 1895 to 1945. After that, the railway line leading to Thuringia was discontinued. The Selbitz Viaduct is now a lost place.

Volcanic activity during prehistoric times shaped this region. In the Neolithic period, the course of the Selbitz river sawed up to 170 meters deep into the volcanic rock and created a narrow gorge.

A remarkable wooden bridge over the Selbitz River and a very popular photo subject in the Höllental Valley. According to legend, the Prince of Hell was once seen on the Devil's Bridge.

Small beautiful hike in the Höllental in the best weather ☀️ and with rippling water in the background. Since viewpoints are always completely overcrowded in this weather plus weekend, I like to choose something along rivers or lakes for such days. It's always calming and relaxing no matter how many have had a similar idea 😄. However, I can highly …

I chose the valley path through Höllenthal for the return tour. After changing sides, we continued on the almost flat tube path. You walk on the filled-in 1.70m tubes that bring the water from the weir to the hydroelectric power station. Due to the altitude, you can enjoy a significantly better view of the beautiful valley.

For dog owners: There are two sharp-edged iron steps on the rocky path - not suitable for dog paws.

Nice little round for the whole family. Always along the river with beautiful viewpoints.

This morning I went for a short walk in the Höllental. I love it! Under the trees, next to the sound of the water, it was wonderfully refreshing.

A very nice hike over the rock path to the Höllental.
Unfortunately, the weather gods were not kind to us and we only took a look at the deer jump from below.
Via the Jungfernsteg back to the starting point.
