Lake Spitzing

Highlight • Lake

The area around the Spitzingsee is one of the most popular hiking areas around Munich. Hikers have the choice of either walking directly on the shore or making a detour to the surrounding pastures, huts and mountains. I like to combine both activities and jump into the refreshing lake after the mountain hike. Always a recommendation, no matter what the season!

The Spitzingsee is a mountain lake in the Alps in southern Bavaria. The lake was also referred to as "Stump Lake" on old maps.[1] The Spitzingsee village of the same name is located on the Spitzingsee.

behind the hunting lodge Valepp one crosses the border to Austria. On the smugglers' trail you either cycle to the Ackernalm under the Sonnwendjoch or to the Archduke Johann Klause at the Bayrache.

Spitzingsee

Highlight • Lake

The Spitzingsee is a dream and can be ridden as a stop on a three-lake tour together with the Schliersee and Tegernsee. The connection between Tegernsee (Rottach-Egern) and Spitzingsee is formed by the beautiful Valepp toll road. One of my personal highlights, which I ride regularly. Absolutely brilliant!

On the tour, you should definitely pack a wind jacket for the various descents! Especially if you go up to the alpine pastures above 1,400 meters and along the Valepp.
