Wackerbarth Castle is, of course, the epitome of Saxon wine. The winery is located in a well-kept garden. Guided tours are offered here and you can also eat in the restaurant. You can find all the information at: schloss-wackerbarth.de.

In 1742, the vineyard pavilion was built. Since 1799 he belongs to the estate Wackerbarth. Here you have a fantastic view. Striking is the figure of Bacchus on the roof.

At this point, on the balcony of Radebeul, the first building of the observatory was built in 1959. It was a wooden hut that could be driven off on rails. Almost ten years later, the building complex of the new building was inaugurated. In the years that followed, further modifications or redesigns took place and more telescopes or other instruments were added again and again. A visit is very worthwhile.

The bronze “The Stargazers” from 1971, placed in front of the observatory, is also nice to look at.

Spitzhaus Staircase

Highlight (Segment) • Structure

For August the Strong, Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann designed an annual stairway, each consisting of seven steps and 52 landings, from the Hoflößnitz to his planned, further pleasure palace on the edge of the Wahnsdorf plateau. It was to be built on the Wolframsdorf vineyard, which came into electoral ownership in 1710. After Pöppelmann's death, between 1747 and 1750, even 390 steps were built, making it the largest baroque staircase in Saxony, which climbs 220 meters straight and 76 meters high. It was restored from 1845 to 1847 by master builder Karl Moritz Haenel and extensively renovated in 1992 using Postaer sandstone and Meißner granite. It was expanded to 397 steps with 57 landings and is now used, for example, for the Radebeul staircase.
The Spitzhaus staircase leads past the striking entrance portal of the Goldener Wagen vineyard to the west, which gives the Radebeuler Goldener Wagen vineyard its name.
