Friedrich Heinrich Colliery Park

Highlight • Monument

A very diverse excursion destination. On the one hand, you can relax here as there are many places to retreat and, on the other hand, it is a nice place to visit with children. Large playground, 2 skating rinks, animal park, lots of space to play ball and much more!!!

Baroque terraced gardens at Kloster Kamp

Highlight • Historical Site

The magnificent Kamp Monastery in Kamp-Lintfort was founded in 1123 as the first Cistercian monastery in German-speaking countries. Stroll through the beautiful and well-kept terraced gardens and treat yourself to a piece of cake in the lovely donation-based café. The herb garden at the monastery is also definitely worth a visit.

The café is somewhat hidden and quiet, in a secluded location and surrounded by beautiful nature. Very welcoming. The cakes are very tasty and the menu is varied. Definitely worth a visit.

On this stretch of the Rhine dam you can't see anything of the Rhine directly, but it is very nice to drive along. Every now and then sheep run into your path or block it and you have to see how you can get past them.

From the towpath, which is easy to cycle along, there are always beautiful views of the Rhine with its shipping and bridges.

October 30, 2022,2022.10.30 Die Bergbau-Geschichte am Niederrhein ⚒
A wonderful tour suggestion from the @radrevier.ruhr. An ideal tour to take advantage of the beautiful warm October weather and at the same time to discover a little of the mining history of the Lower Rhine by bike.

You can find a detailed tour report at mein-ruhrgebiet.blog/bergbau-geschichte-im-kreis-wesel-per-rad-discover. 🚴 The round tour is a nice alternative to the central Ruhr area, especially for experienced cyclists. There are a few exciting mining locations in the Wesel district. ⚒
