Cycle paths on former railway lines are widespread. But I have not yet experienced that they also go through tunnels. In Spain it should be very common.
At 8-10° it shivers quite a bit. Great experience rushing through there.
In my opinion, the ascent to the Wasserkuppe from the west is a bit more challenging than from the east.
