Today's tour took us around the Gemünden, Weinfelder, and Schalkenmehren Maars 🥾🌿.
Maars are volcanic depressions 🌋 formed by steam explosions 💥. Many have filled with water and resemble crater lakes – typical of the Volcanic Eifel and geologically absolutely unique.
The maars are also known as the "eyes of the Eifel" 👁️ – we can only confirm this ✅.
