The Gewölbe (Runde Grube, Wismar)

Highlight • Historical Site

Very nice, representative building above the "round pit", as the canal is called in this part of the city. The half-timbered house is also known as the "vault" and spans the canal with two bridge bays.

The old Hanseatic city of Wismar is really worth seeing! Walking tour in beautiful October weather. On the way we stopped at the brick Bothmer Castle.

14.7.22 - the Hanseatic city of Wismar had to wait exactly one year for my visit (see komoot.de/tour/419147754), but now the time has come. There is no time to continue my Baltic Sea Trail hikes, but Wismar is in there as a start. And the €9 ticket currently makes short trips possible at low cost. Well-filled regional trains go there …

A great trip to Wismar. What a beautiful city. Beautiful houses, brightly painted, with lots of flowers in front of them, all rather quiet and very well maintained. Small streets, one more beautiful than the other. It gave us a lot of pleasure.

One of the highlights 💫 of our vacation is Wismar 🧱. We've already seen a lot of it, whether in Komoot or on TV 📺 e.g. through the series "SOKO Wismar" and were enthusiastic about the flair of the Hanseatic city. In the hope that many people will be drawn to the sea 🏖️🌊⛵, we went despite Whitsun Sunday. A …

Today we went to Wismar again, our friend Elisabeth also wanted to visit us and we were finally able to see her little darling 👶🏼 live 😃

Of course we visited the most important sights, had a very good meal at the "Pfau" and enjoyed two delicious ice creams 😉

It was great, part 2 of the day follows 😅

What a ride:

I remember when you could drive from BER to Wismar; today you have to drive to Bad Kleinen to get to Wismar. 🤪

After arriving in Wismar, I first went to the market square to stretch my legs after the long drive. From there, I went to St. George's Church to see Wismar from above.

Hanseatic city of Wismar, UNESCO World Heritage city, a city with many advance praises, I have to take a closer look at that.
And what can I say, everything you have read and seen so far is true, Wismar is worth seeing.
