It has three-part acoustic arcades and is covered by a gabled roof. In the years 1633 and 1655 the nave was destroyed by fire and later renewed. In 1767 a porch was built on the south side of the nave. In the night from August 7th to 8th, 1928[1] the nave was again destroyed in another fire and rebuilt in the years 1929/30.
The interior of the ship is spanned by a wooden barrel. The church tower was originally opened towards the nave by a late Romanesque double arcade. The current interior design dates from the reconstruction from 1929 and is a rare example of church furnishings in the 1930s. In particular, the north and west gallery, pulpit altar and organ date from this period. The pulpit altar is on the east wall. On the pulpit is the inscription The word of our God endures forever.
To the left of the altar is a historic chair that survived the catastrophic fire. It is known as the Luther chair because the reformer Martin Luther is said to have sat on it during a visit to Oppin.
