Old Toll House Wasserburg am Inn

Highlight • Historical Site

The Old Mauthaus was the first headquarters of the state customs collector in Wasserburg, the Mautner. The southeastern part of the building complex, which consists of several houses, dates back to the early Gothic period. Only this part, a multi-storey hall building, and the north-eastern house with several Renaissance bay windows can be seen as parts of the early state administration, which was located at this point until 1496.

Church of Our Lady, Wasserburg am Inn

Highlight • Religious Site

The market church was first mentioned in 1324, but was probably built in the late Romanesque-early Gothic period. After the city fire in 1339, repairs were carried out and the side aisles were built around 1386. From 1750 the church was baroque, after 1859 extensive interior renovations and neo-Gothic additions.
The church tower as a municipal watchtower was built around 1300 and is still owned by the city today.

A beautiful church with a city tower, which is located right next to the town hall in the center of the old town. What's funny is that every seat is labeled with a name... ;-)

Wasserburg on the Inn

Highlight • Historical Site

Wasserburg am Inn enchants with its picturesque old town with its back to medieval times building fabric. A peculiarity lies in the fact that the old town lies on a peninsula which is almost completely surrounded by the Inn, which can only be reached via a narrow promontory.

Where the Attel meets the Inn, the Fischstüberl is ready for hungry cyclists. In addition to freshly caught trout, you can also enjoy Bavarian specialties and other delicacies here.

From the bridge you have a great view of the Inn and its lush banks. It all looks pretty wild and original, really great! There is also a stone statue on the bridge which is interesting to look at.
