Wahmbeck Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The Wahmbeck church is located directly on the Weser at a river crossing that is still operated today with a yaw cable ferry using the power of the water current. The church is dedicated to Saint Christopher. A look inside the Wahmbeck church is worthwhile: the interior is hall-like, without a choir. To the east you can see the St. Christopher window. On the altar is a modern bronze cross with beautiful rock crystal and the matching candlesticks. To the left of the altar is an old baptismal font from 1868 and a wooden figure by the sculptor Otto Flatt from around 1950. The beautiful, simple baroque organ was built around 1770 in nearby Gottsbüren and was one of the first "historical" ones to be restored. The bells call for worship and prayer and invite you to take a deep breath in the church room. In 2009 the church was awarded the signet "reliably open church". That means the church is open 24 hours a day, summer and winter alike.

New types of bike centers were built along the German Unity Cycle Path. They all have the same design approach, but are equipped differently. From simple information stations to rest areas and storage facilities for bicycles and luggage, everything is there. They represent an important contribution to the unifying effect of the German Unity Cycle Path.

This station has a charging locker.

An information board provides information about the Hutewald project.
The actual large Hutewald is then near Nienover and the north-western area.
