A little away from the Moselle you drive here on a wide road through the vineyards (with a moderate incline).

View of Piesport and the Moselle

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Moselle cycle path leads directly along the river bank near Piesport. You have a great view of the vineyards, the town with its pretty church and, of course, the Moselle.

The Romans already settled in the region around Piesport. The vineyards framed the town "like the tiers of an amphitheater," wrote the poet Ausonius. In 1985, the largest Roman wine press north of the Alps was discovered and partially reconstructed between the districts of Alt-Piesport and Ferres (Wikipedia).

Moselle Cycle Path to Piesport

Highlight • Cycleway
