View of the Sempt River

Highlight • River

The Sempt is an approximately 46 km long right tributary of the Isar that flows into the Middle Isar Canal between Moosburg and Landshut.
The Sempt arises near Ottenhofen from the confluence of the Anzinger Sempt and the shorter Forstinninger Sempt. It is heavily fed by groundwater from the gravel plain, so it is relatively cool in summer, rarely exceeding 17 °C, but it does not freeze in winter. Source: Wikipedia

Highlight • Viewpoint

Like a Bavarian postcard: Here you have a beautiful view of the community of Wörth from the path. The church tower in particular catches the eye.

Wildflower meadow by the Sempt

Highlight • Natural

Along the Sempt there are always beautiful places that invite you to linger. The Sempt source is near Marktschwaben and the Sempt then flows north towards Erding. It is a wide valley of the Sempt, which is also very agricultural.

Church of the Annunciation, Altenerding

Highlight • Religious Site

Building history:
On September 28, 1716, the Ordinariate of Freising granted permission to renew the dilapidated parish church in Altenerding. The old tower from 1556 was then demolished in 1718 and the parish church was finally built in 1720 by Anton Kogler, a master bricklayer from Erdingen. On August 20, 1724, the consecration of the church was carried out by the Bishop of Freising, Johann Franz von Ecker. Kogler added the sacristy to the east in 1722, which was increased in 1871.
The parish church has been renovated since its construction in 1852, 1876, 1904 and 1956. An extensive exterior and interior renovation in 1981-87 gave the church its original luminosity. The tower was renovated in 2005 after severe hail damage.
With the interior, our church got today's festive dress in Rococo style as a graphic expression of the joy of faith of that era. Archbishop Franz Josef von Stein said during his visit in 1904 that Altenerding was the most beautiful country church in his archdiocese.

One of two large adventure playgrounds in Erdinger Stadtpark. With the small zoo, the city park is a real attraction for the little ones!
