View of Zell im Wiesental

Highlight • Viewpoint

Zell im Wiesental was first mentioned in documents in 1275 and since 1810 has been granted city rights. The city counts today about 6 200 inhabitants. For a long time the city was known as an industrial location of the textile industry and seat of several spinning mills and weaving mills. Even today, the brand name "Irisette" is known for high quality bed and table linen. The textile / industrial past is dedicated to the lively and attractive Wiesentäler Textile Museum (wiesentaeler-textilmuseum.de). Since the 1990s, automotive suppliers and mechanical engineering as well as many small and medium-sized efficient trade and craft enterprises have dominated. An important role in the history of the city of Zell im Wiesental is played by the Weber family, whose descendants have written and influenced the history of music throughout the world. That the memory of the Weber family is so alive, the city has to thank in particular the research of her honorary citizen, who died in 1998, the well-known dialect poet and writer Gerhard Jung. Cell i.W. is the birthplace of Constanze Mozart, b. Weber, the Constanze Mozart city. Source: Zell im Wiesental.de

Todtnauerli Tunnel

Highlight • Structure

The railway line Zell im Wiesental-Todtnau, where among other things this tunnel is located, was a 18.74 kilometers long private meter gauge narrow gauge railway from Zell im Wiesental to Todtnau. It was referred to as a continuation of the standard gauge Wiesentalbahn from Basel via Lörrach to Zell as Upper Wiesentalbahn. For the local population she was called Todtnauerli, in the spacious vernacular Todtnauerle. After the expiration of the concession, the state of Baden-Württemberg took over the route on 1 January 1953 and brought them into the Mittelbadische Eisenbahnen AG. The decline in traffic led to the closure of passenger traffic on September 25, 1966 and freight traffic on September 24, 1967. The tracks were completely dismantled. Today we mainly use the route as a bike path and also serves the annual Wiesental run from the meadow spring on Feldberg to Basel as part of the route.

May 31, 2023,Feierabendtour # the Blackforestline ... 🤩🤘🤘🌉
Since I still have to work this week 🙄 and my son is already on vacation, a short bike ride to the newly opened Blackforestline to Todtnau after work. Already a blatant part 🤩 would be highly recommended if it wasn't so expensive 🤨 but had to be once... 😁🤩🤘

Very cool little Sunday excursion 🚲 ... from mud to snow storm ❄🌨 to sunshine 🌞🌤 everything included ... 👍😜

Today, after almost a year, we spontaneously met up again for a short coffee bike ride. On the way back, Eric wanted to break the mold and quickly left his pedal crank on the Todtnauerli😱. Luckily, nothing happened and thanks to Thomas, who had tools with him, the damage could be temporarily fixed👍 It was great with you all🤗

Quite comfortably on the Todtnauerli to the ☕️, then over the adventure trail up to the Schwert and again almost the same way back

Super nice tour and the Hohe möhr is always worth a detour. View towards the Vosges, Hochrhein, Feldberg and Belchen. When the weather is nice, the Alps too, of course ...

Today I cycled with my son 🤩 and his friends to the Hasenhorn 🐇 to go on the summer toboggan run. Very cool tour... was a lot of fun... 🤩🤙🏻

First with the bike up the Hasenhorn 🐇, with the coaster back down 🤩 and with the lift back up... very cool tour with my favorite companion... ☺️🤩🤘🤘

Short after-work tour to the bike dealer and took the opportunity (there isn't any else 🤪) to test the Magpeds...
A few detours had to be at some point, but then it became too much with bike paths. 🙈
