The Vils valley is a wonderful place: green meadows, small villages and the mountains in the background. However, remember that you are on a designated hiking trail, the Way of St. James Tyrol - Allgäu.

Tannheimer Valley

Highlight • Gorge

The Tannheimer Hochtal valley fulfils (almost) all the wishes that a cyclist could have for a tour in the mountains. Unfortunately, it is not an insider tip. 😉 Great region, beautiful, will stay in your memory, recommended!

Highlight • Viewpoint

If you come up the Vilstalstrasse, this high valley opens up almost surprisingly. From here it goes on to the Tannheimer Tal near Schattwald or to Jungholz ... but both are still connected with steep gradients.

Great parking, €4 for 6 hours, very nice public restrooms in the community center, a short detour to Lake Haldensee, and a final stop at an olive farmer's in Wertach.
