Adnams Brewery Taproom & Tour

Highlight • Monument

This is a Adnams Brewery tap room, the room is part of the hotels and has about 6 taps of Adnams beers. They also have the whole selection of spirits and wines.

Nicely decorated room, it is a 'posh' tap room rather than the rustic working tap room for most breweries.

Southwold Beach and Beach Huts

Highlight • Structure

Southwold is a vibrant and picturesque town on the Suffolk coast. Its gorgeous sandy beach, interesting pier and colourful promenade are worth an amble, while the town centre has all the amenities you could need. The town was the home of 1984 novelist George Orwell between 1921 and the Second World War.

Gun Hill Cannons

Highlight • Viewpoint

There are six cannons here on Gun Hill, once an 18th century defence against pirates. There are lots of benches up here to enjoy the sea views but keep an eye out for the ghost of James Martin, a soldier who looked into the barrel of gun number 1 after it misfired and his head was blown off. The guns haven't been fired since then back in 1842.
