Llys-y-Frân Gravel Bike Trails

Highlight • Cycleway

Site reopened 2021 after investment in the facilities. Shared use trail around reservoir (steep and loose in places on west side of res), with sections of dedicated singletrack running parallel. I had great fun on the blue sections on a gravel bike, but the red would be best on a MTB in my view. £3 to park (east side of res).

Llys-y-frân Reservoir Circular

Highlight • Trail

The (mostly) gravel trail around Llys-y-fran Reservoir offers beautiful perspectives on hidden inlets and stunning views at every turn.

Don't expect flat terrain, as it's an undulating circuit from the bottom of the dam, up through the woods and over the hills.

Running the loop clockwise will give you a flatter finish for tired legs.

Llys-y-fran Bike Hub

Highlight • Cycleway

The Bike Hub is a fantastic facility at Llys-y-fran. Hire bikes or if you have brought your own bike, the Bike Hub has the tools you might need to make repairs. They also have a bike wash station to clean off the mud (essential!) before you head home.

Hire prices (2022) start at £20 for 3 hours, up to £40 for an e-bike. Helmets can be hired as well.
