View of Beddmanarch Bay

Highlight • Viewpoint

Dead end for road bikes. It's a big carpark, but it does have a public toilet 🚻
Nice on a sunny day, but not really a good highlight unless you need the loo.

Just off the A55 near Holyhead sits a popular country park which attracts more than 100,000 visitors each year. Penrhos Coastal Park is considered one of Anglesey's hidden gems, but hidden within it is also one of North Wales' most unusual attractions.

For decades, people have gathered in a section of woodland within the 200 acre park to mourn their four-legged friends. Tucked away within the forest is a pet cemetery where dozens of animals have been buried since the 1980s.

Tens of miniature headstones make up this unique spot which is open to the public. Each year thousands of people visit the coastal park but some are left puzzled when they encounter a pet memorial along the way.

Beddmanarch Bay

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is an exceptionally beautiful bay on Holy Island with views to sea and across to Anglesey. It backs onto the Penrhos Coastal Park with plenty of hiking trails and viewpoints.

Coffee Cups Cafe

Highlight • Cafe

Found this lovely cafe off the A5 London Road. Perfect little cafe with amazing views, some funny sheds you can sit in, and plenty of outside seating.
Open Sat - Wednesday 11am till 4pm
closed Thursday and Friday
Would definitely recommend it.
The path that carries on you will also see public toilets in the carpark. If you go beyond there, it's a dead end for bikes, but ok for walkers.

Stanley Embankment (The Cob)

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Embankment crosses the Cymyran Strait, connecting Ynys Cybi (Holy Island) with Ynys Môn (Anglesey). Use the cycle path to get a good view of the tidal water flowing (often, blasting!) through the sluice between the so-called "inland sea" of the Cymyran Strait and the open sea of Beddmanarch Bay.
