Pindale Quarry Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

If you get to the top and can see the quarry it's fun times from here!

Straight down to the bottom, it's more a case of how fast do you dare than how fast are you able. Have fun!

Cave Dale Descent

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A famously challenging Peak District descent. Extremely spicy when wet, I'd give it 4 chillies. The bad news is that it's ALWAYS wet haha. It's fairly steep in places, wide for the most part and narrow in others. Scattered with a mixture of loose and embedded rock. In the wider parts of the trail line choice is pretty fun and challenging with the wide variety of choice. Very good fun, scream if you want to go faster kind of descent.

Pindale Road

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

An alternative route into Castleton. Avoid the traffic and take in the views and steady climbs on this quiet little lane.

Townfield Lane

Highlight (Segment) • Forest

Gravel route from Shatton to Hope Quarry avoiding the main road. Steep & fun little section at the end through the woods DH to Brough lane.

Shatton Transmitter Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Structure

Loose gravel on tarmac, watch those skids kids!

Tip by

6

15.2 km

Lovely track edged with drystone walls over Shatton Moor. Great views across the Peak to Ladybower.

Shatton Edge Descent

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a scenic descent that runs beside the Shatton Moor peak. It combines stunning scenery with challenging terrain but it's definitely worth it.

18.4 km

Brough Lane

Highlight • Viewpoint

Absolute lung busting leg ruiner of a climb. Starts on draggy tarmac of fairly intense gradient and then switches to fire road style surface.

The middle section is brutally steep and really knocks the stuffing out of you but things ease off for the final stretch and the view back over the Hope Valley is a well-earned reward.
