Waddington Village

Highlight • Pub

With a babbling brook, manicured gardens and chocolate box cottages, Waddington is a lovely village in Lancashire. Its historic buildings house fascinating tales: Henry VI went into hiding in Waddington Hall for 12 months, before he was betrayed to the Yorkists in 1465. Today, you can explore the pretty village and enjoy a slice of cake at the bike-friendly cafe opposite the church.

Waddington Fell

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

Affectionally referred to as 'Waddy' by locals, this is one of the main climbs in the area. Approaching from the south it is an average of 6% for 2.5 miles. Approaching from the north involves tackling a steep kicker early on called Hagg Wood Ramp which although only an 8% gradient, it maxes out at around 20%, so is not for the unfit

Popular cyclists haunt with good food, outside and indoor seating, secure bike racks, drying room, water bottle refill tap. They don't take cards but you can get cash-back from the post office located in the right hand section of the café. Apparently the location of this café is at the very centre of the UK and is ideal for a pre/post Trough of Bowland break.
Open Thurs and Fri 10:00 - 16:00.
Sat and Sun 9:30 - 16:00.
Closed Mon, Tue and Wed.

It's a pretty little village with a cafe and a pub. It's on the Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail and a good start point for several walks.
