Stud Farm Attendant Houses Raben Steinfeld

Highlight • Historical Site

These houses from 1863 (I hope I have noticed correctly) were provided only with different clinker bricks. But that's what makes them look very pretty. Although the construction of the houses also contributed its part.
Was that a common architectural style at that time?
Addendum: It is in Raben Steinfeld a row of houses in English country house style from the 19th century, a grand ducal summer residence in the style of the neo-Renaissance. (Source: Tourismusverein Schweriner Seenland e.V.)

Raben Steinfeld Landscape Park

Highlight • Natural

The landscape park was originally designed by court gardener Theodor Klett and belonged to a grand ducal estate. The English-style park on a steep bank above Lake Schwerin incorporates existing trees and opens up with picturesque views of the landscape and the village of Raben Steinfeld.

Warnow River in Gädebehn

Highlight • River

The Gädebehn forestry office is responsible for around 16,800 hectares of forest on a territory of around 61,000 hectares. Due to the local differences, the forest structure is very diverse. Although pine and beech forests are dominant, there are also many mixed forests in which tree species such as larch, spruce, ash and alder are also represented.

With its upper reaches, the Warnow flows through all six districts of the forestry office. Numerous lakes complete the landscape. Accordingly, the water in the region plays an important role for the animal and plant world, which is also reflected in the frequent occurrence of animal species such as otters, beavers or sea eagles and cranes as well as red, wild boar and red deer.

Crivitz Town Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The church is considered a landmark of the place and dominates with the high church roof and the tower, the cityscape.

From the first church in Crivitz no remains are detectable. Preserved foundations in the sacristy probably belong to a successor. The current building was probably built in brick at the end of the 14th century. Maintaining the ground plan, it has undergone many changes over the centuries. The church received its final image today after the tower and roof had been rebuilt after the city fire in 1660. To the hall church of three yokes, a low chancel adjoins the middle of the nave in the east, it closes polygon, to the north is the sacristy with ribbed vault. In the interior, the main and side aisles are separated by octagonal pillars in late Gothic style. The bright choir room is dominated by a vaulted vault from the 15th century. The renewal of the color version was based on a medieval model. In the 19th century, the interior was redesigned according to the taste of the time, while the built-in imitation vault plaster cleaning experienced in 1998 a renewal. Also in the 19th century, a three-sided wooden gallery was installed, the central aisle was removed. From the tower room you can reach the belfry via a staircase. During renovations at the beginning of the 21st century, it was noted that in the Renaissance period the entire interior was decorated with ornamental jewelery and figurative. The restoration is still going on.

Z. Arboretum

Highlight • Forest

Arboretum Crivitz is a 15-acre tree park with educational trails, display boards, and picnic areas. 132 different tree and shrub species from all over the world can be seen.

A trip to the spacious, quiet oasis on the outskirts of Crivitz is relaxing and educational at the same time: Stroll through blooming meadows and rows of trees, let your eyes wander, learn a lot about native and "naturalized" trees and shrubs.

And: There are few places where a buzzing and humming permeates the air as clearly as in the arboretum. Bees, butterflies & Co. have long since discovered the flowering areas and the insect hotel for themselves.

The path into the countryside also proves to be sonorous: An idyllic hiking trail from the end of the Freiheitsallee opens up the view of the Crivitzer See and the old town, before it goes over a small wooden bridge to the "Liebesallee": 132 small-leaved lime trees over 120 years old, in which the hustle and bustle of the bees can be heard when the linden trees are in bloom in early summer, line the path on both sides, which finally leads to the more than seven hectare site. Based on an unfolded map of the world, trees and shrubs from Asia grow in the eastern part, woody plants from Europe in the middle and America in the west. About 100 tree and 30 bush species are planted, explained and described in more detail on two nature trails. The gingko as the tree of the millennium and a primeval sequoia are also part of the stock, as are descendants of the Ivenacker oaks. The genetic material of other gnarled giant trees, which have now been designated natural monuments, is also being secured in the arboretum as part of the "Young Giants" campaign.

The arboretum is open all year round and admission is free. Guided tours are possible on request.
