On March 23, 1920 - the sixth day after the end of the putsch - the soldiers came to Zernsdorf. The brothers Bienge, Otto Pohl, Paul Renz, who belonged to the SPD, and the members of the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD) were arrested here: Johann Michalek, Otto u. Paul Lenz, Gustav Neumann.
Above all, they wanted to get hold of the latter and the soldiers wanted to find incriminating documents in a house search. However, nothing was found and Gustav Neumann, who could be warned, hid in the reeds until nightfall and then fled to Berlin.
The arrested were to be shot right next to Aue No. 5, which is why the memorial stone originally stood at this point. Machine guns ready to fire were posted on the opposite side.
The bloodbath could only be prevented by the courageous demeanor of the community leader Robnd of the Zernsdorf citizen Dr. Ernst Geyer, be prevented.
So the soldiers decided to take the arrested people up to the Funkerberg and to interrogate them under torture alongside the prisoners from other places and finally to bring them before a court martial. Some were shot, but none from Zernsdorf.
In 1953, the stone was inaugurated as a memorial. The inscription: “On March 23, 1920, Zernsdorf workers stood here in front of the machine guns of the reaction. Therefore: Down with the arsonists! Long live peace! " still reminds today of the days of the Kapp Putsch in March 1920. The memory of the events on the Zernsdorfer Aue was also the reason to rename the village meadow "Friedensaue".
Since then he has been remembering the political events of that “hot” March almost 100 years ago in Germany and their concrete effects here in Zernsdorf.

View of the Krüpelsee

Highlight • Viewpoint

From the bridge you have a wonderful view over the Krüpelsee. Under the bridge there is the connection to Zernsdorfer Lankensee.

The Krüpelsee is located east of Königs Wusterhausen and is surrounded by the districts of Kablow, Zernsdorf, Neue Mühle, Senzig and a reed belt. Many private properties make access from the shore difficult. However, a few spots on the lake are open to the public. In the west, the Krüpelsee merges into the Krimmicksee. Both lakes together are about four kilometers long. The Dahme flows through them. The Krüpelsee is about 285 hectares in size, has an average depth of 2.5 m and is part of the federal waterway.
