Yearling Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This moderate trail runs through the grass of the former Reagan Ranch. This ranch was owned by Ronald Reagan, former President of the United States, from 1957 to 1967. Now it's a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers, but still beloved of equestrians too. So don't be surprised if you see plentiful evidence of horseback riders — or the horses and riders themselves.

The lush wetlands and groves around the little reservoir created by the small fill dam early in the 20th century are a great place. There you can witness the natural recovery succession after the devastating Woolsey wildfire that raged through the area in November 2018.
