Only the bell tower of the old abbey, which was built in 1140, survives. Robert the Bruce used it as the Houses of Parliament. In 1326 he confirmed his son's succession to the throne here.

Clear day today although very strong winds at times. Heated up some Lentil Soup near Airth, that was just the thing! :-)
Out having a nosey around once again. The Dunmore to South Alloa 'path' is now impassable and very overgrown, don't think it gets any maintenance at all. Must register that with 'fixmystreet.com' my current favourite website following my success getting a pothole fixed! :-)
Interesting day, a revisit to the munitions depot at Bandeath, and access to to some repurposed buildings containing the original military munitions winches. Also searching for a missing historical artefact in Dunmore woods....haven't found it .....yet!
Dunmore to South Alloa section, about 70% cyclable the rest you need to walk
