The Little Mill Inn

Highlight • Rest Area

The Little Mill Inn is a welcoming country pub and B&B. It's popular with locals and visitors and welcomes walkers, kids and dogs. Set in a big beer garden with an adventure playground for kids, it's a good spot for lunch, dinner or a drink.

They have their own gardens and fruit trees, which they harvest and supplement with local produce to create a changing seasonal menu.

Accommodation is in the Shepard huts, B&B rooms or a self-catering apartment.

Kinder Reservoir

Highlight • Natural Monument

Kinder Reservoir is a striking stretch of water tucked beneath the wild expanse of Kinder Scout. Built between 1903-1911, the reservoir is fed by the River Kinder and by the stream flowing down William Clough valley.

Sett Valley Trail

Highlight • Cycleway

The Sett Valley Trail is a 2.5 mile recreational trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders linking New Mills and Hayfield.

It follows a former railway line through outstanding countryside and forms part of the Pennine Bridleway National Trail between Hayfield and Birch Vale.

At New Mills there is access from the Sett Valley Trail to the dramatic Torrs Riverside Park and to Mousley Bottom via the Millennium Walkway.

You can access the Torrs Riverside Park in New Mills, Mousley Bottom via the Millennium Walkway and New Mills Heritage Centre, via the Torrs.

This is an access for all trail, allowing prams and mobility scooters access from New Mills town centre to Hayfield.

The trail is unsuitable for horse riders or cyclists west of St George’s Road, New Mills

Highlight • Structure

After a walk around the area we enjoyed a great lunch at the Shrub Club. I reccomend the Shrub-a-Dub Pale Ale.

The Torrs Millennium Walkway

Highlight • Structure

A grand arc of glistening steel above the rushing waters of the River Goyt, the Millennium Walkway is a marvellous addition to any walk. Standing on stilts above the river, it allows walkers to experience the sandstone Torrs Gorge in a way that was previously impossible. It also provides a vital link that was previously missing in the long-distance Midshires Way.
