The Nidd Viaduct spans the Nidd Gorge at Bilton, near Harrogate. It is sometimes known as the Bilton Viaduct and was built in 1848. From here you can enjoy gorgeous views of the Nidd Gorge.

The Nidd Gorge was carved out of the sandstone during the last ice age. It has very steep sides and the viaduct was necessary to carry the Leeds and Thirsk railway across the ravine.

The viaduct is no longer in use as the railway was closed in 1967, but future restoration is possible as the local council look to improve transport links.

Harrogate Town Centre

Harrogate is going to be the main hub of the UCI Road World Championships in 2019 and this is a pretty major achievement for this big, old town. I personally think it's a really deserving World Champs host city! Having been to Innsbruck and other World Champs editions, I'm curious to see how the town will shape it and what it'll put on to show it in the best light.

A beautiful town with lots of old buildings and history that lend it a ton of character.

It's really well connected for cyclists - whether you're touring, road riding or mountain biking. And it has several shops for repairs and even bike hire.
