Lake Corbara represents an artificial basin obtained through the construction of a dam on the course of the river Tiber near the town of Corbara (TR). This barrier structure, located about three kilometers from the confluence with the Paglia river, determines the accumulation of a water reserve of 207 million cubic meters inside the lake, which can reach a maximum depth of 51 metres. This body of water occupies a suggestive valley which opens up starting from the spectacular Forello gorges. It should be emphasized that Lake Corbara is integrated into the protected area of the Tiber River Park, a context in which it is possible to observe various species of birds, including herons, and to identify the presence of fallow deer and moufflons.
