Nowa Ruda Castle

The later Neurode Castle was built on the left high bank of the Walditz on the site of the "Newenrode" farm, which was first mentioned in 1352 and was the seat of the landlord Hannus (Hanns / Hanß) Wustehube. This sold the farm with the town of "Newenrode" and other possessions on September 20 th. J. to Hensel von Donyn. [1] After the destruction in the Hussite Wars, the palace complex was rebuilt with four wings in 1428–1464. A renovation followed in 1536–1550, as in 1630. After the Thirty Years' War, the palace was expanded (before 1663) to include a further wing with a garden hall and a representation hall above it, as well as an outer bailey on the city side.
