The Głogów Ducal Castle was built in the second half of the 13th century as the seat of the Duchy of Głogów rulers, with significant expansions in the 15th and 17th centuries. The castle was severely damaged during World War II fighting between German forces and the Red Army in 1945, but was reconstructed between 1971-1983 and now houses the Archaeological and Historical Museum. The medieval cylindrical tower, known as the Hunger Tower due to its basement prison, is the oldest part of the castle and stands 24 meters tall with 2.75-meter thick walls at its base.

Graffiti Underpass in Głogów

Highlight • Structure

An underpass like this underpass is used to pass underground 😉. What makes this particular underpass unique is the graffiti that decorates every square centimeter of its walls.

Głogów Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

The Głogów Town Hall's origins date back to the late 13th century when a watchtower was built, later expanded into a two-wing masonry town hall in 1349, though it was destroyed by fires in 1420, 1433, and most significantly in 1574 after which it was rebuilt in Renaissance style. The building underwent major reconstruction between 1823-1835 according to architect A. Soller's design, creating two contrasting wings: western in Prussian classicism style and eastern in fashionable Florentine style.

After being severely damaged and burned out during the 1945 fighting for Głogów, the town hall was reconstructed from 1984-2002 and now houses the Municipal Office.

Głogów Church Ruins Memorial

Highlight • Historical Site

The Church of St. Nicholas was built in the 1330s and 1340s. In 1945 it was destroyed and has remained a ruin ever since, periodically undergoing protective works. The ruins of the church have preserved the Gothic form along with reconstructions from the Middle Ages and later centuries. The Gothic peripheral walls, part of the Gothic and Baroque vaults, the northern arcade between the naves and the partially destroyed tower have also been preserved. After being secured, the tower is a monument - a symbol of the destruction of Głogów during World War II.

The Andreas Gryphius Theater in Głogów is a neoclassical theater building constructed in 1799 according to Christian Valentin Schultze's design, making it the second city in Silesia after Wrocław to have its own theater.

The original building was destroyed during World War II in 1945 along with the entire city during the Soviet offensive, but was faithfully reconstructed between 2017-2019 to serve as a branch of the Municipal Cultural Center.

Corpus Christi Church in Głogów

Highlight • Religious Site

The Corpus Christi Church in Głogów is a late Baroque church located in the old town near the town hall, originally built as a modest chapel first mentioned in 1403 and later expanded into a Jesuit church designed by Italian architect Giulio Simonetti between 1696-1702.

The church was heavily damaged during World War II bombing in 1945, losing its roof and both tower spires, which were only restored in 2019 after over 70 years. The restored church now stands 50 meters tall with its distinctive copper-clad spires topped by symbolic elements including a chalice and cross.
