A beautiful section of this route, well-maintained and very easy to cycle. The landscape is very flat, so progress is quick. The Vía Verde de Dénia follows a former railway line through a diverse landscape. The renovated bridge is a silent witness to the old railway line that once connected Dénia with Carcaixent and is now a landmark along the route. For cyclists, it is not only a safe crossing but also an ideal place for a short break to enjoy the tranquil scenery.

Almadrava Archaeological Site

Highlight • Historical Site

The archaeological site of Almadrava, located in the municipal area of Poblets, presents the typology of a maritime town: a rustic establishment active between the 1st and 5th centuries AD. of C. The excavated area of the Almadrava site corresponds to part of a Roman country house, specifically to a pottery. Although part of a building with the characteristics of a stately home has been discovered, most of the outbuildings that have remained visible describe a pottery and allow us to appreciate, in addition to the work and living rooms for the workers -generally slaves-, wide porches for drying the pieces, wells to extract the necessary water and ovens for baking. This pottery was dedicated to the manufacture of tiles and amphorae. The amphorae could contain wine, oil or brine, which, together with cereals, accounted for 90% of the products traded. They were single-use containers designed for maritime transport since, once they arrived at the port and after their contents were transferred, they were thrown away.
