Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is accessible with public transport.

Alte Römerstraße near Innsbruck

Highlight • Cycleway

Little traffic (compared to the Brennerbundesstrasse anyway) and a great up and down for pedaling and training on the racing bike. My recommendation.

Because of strike of italian railway we passed our second train to go back. That's why I needed (wanted) ride a bike one more time. There were great views and fast serpentines. Highly recommend✌️
I always enjoy driving over the Brenner Pass. Not because I know it from many Ötztal Marathon events, but because I love the descent because of its variety. And when things go well, there is little traffic.

I always particularly enjoy the last two long curves before entering Innsbruck...

unexpectedly beautiful approach route to Innsbruck (where there were still some unexpected but worthwhile meters in altitude hidden at the end.... apart from the recording error)
Public transport and bike can otherwise complement each other perfectly 😃
