September 21, 2025,🇦🇹 Tag 2: Engelhartszell - Aschach
After a hearty breakfast on board, we set off in the fog for the first leg. It was immediately clear that it wouldn't be long before it cleared.

After a few kilometers, we reached the Schlögener Loop. It's impressive how the Danube squeezes through the narrows.

The route continued directly along the water, offering numerous fantastic views.

Combined boat and bike tour from Passau to Vienna. Today's first bike leg. Super easy – the Diemel Cycle Path is a high-mountain tour in comparison. But fun – thirsty and hungry.

Danube with boat and bike. Today the first stage by bike. We walked up and down the steep section to the viewpoint of the Danube loop😃

Start Engelhardtzell, finish Aschach
From start to finish, the route follows the Danube.
On easy-to-ride, flat, paved bike paths –
a delight. Nature, nature, nature

First stage of the Danube cruise Engelhartszell/Aschach, the first few kilometers had light rain, the last few unfortunately a bit more 😊 the new rain gear has paid off 😅

Boat and bike, from Passau to Budapest
Highly recommended

Today on vacation the first cycling stage. From Engelhartszell with its trapper monastery to Aschach. A brutal two hundred meters of altitude were in it. (Luckily we drove up to the snack station, otherwise it would have been lousy!) 😂 Kermit is tied to the railing at night so that he doesn't disappear into the Danube! 😁

The first section of the Danube Cycle Path from Engelhartszell to Aschach. The route is beautiful, but the weather wasn't. 🌧️ But anyone can do it in good weather.
